I feel that God has called me for a greater work that goes much deeper than disease prevention and whole food nutrition.
… Rachel Smartt, ND
My name is Dr. Rachel Smartt. I graduated in 2000 as a Naturopathic Doctor, Nutritional Counselor and recently, as a Psychology of Eating Coach. I have worked for almost two decades to put the winning puzzle pieces together for my clients.
Over the years, I have learned that being healthy and feeling happy don’t always go hand in hand. Many of us are confused about what to eat, how to eat, and how to develop a happy relationship with food and body image. Often, our eating challenges and body images are connected to work, money, relationship, family, intimacy, life stress, and trauma. I believe that when we stop attacking, shaming, and judging ourselves then we can love our bodies and ourselves, and ultimately others.
For most of my life, I’ve had an unhealthy relationship with food and poor body image. I have used food to control my life - to find love, to numb out, avoid pain of childhood experiences and to better cope with life challenges. In 2005, I lost my beloved husband to cancer. Surprisingly, this traumatic event opened a door for me to heal my inner wounds and honor my life journey. Through the many years of training, I have gained great wisdom and have found strategies to nourish me, inside and out. I can now say confidently that I love myself for who I am, most of the time. My imperfections are beautiful. I can now feel satisfied in my relationship with food and my body.
Successful and being Satisfied are achievable realities. I am on a journey and I invite you to join me!
You deserve to live your best life being healthier AND happier.
